HIV testing

Positiiviset ry HivFinland offers community based, low-threshold and anonymous rapid HIV tests once a months and as part of campaigns. You can contact us to discuss any matters related to testing.

HIV tests are available at:

  • health centres (also outside your own municipality of residence)
  • venereal diseases outpatient clinics
  • private clinics (the test is a paid service)
  • student healthcare
  • low-threshold testing points of NGOs

HIV testing is free and anonymous at community based testing points such as those offered by Positiiviset ry HivFinland, Hivpoint, Pro-tukipiste, or at health advice services for drug users. At community based testing points, testing is targeted at specific groups, such as sex workers, travellers or men who have sex with men.

There are also home tests to detect HIV infection. This way, you can do the test at home at your own leisure. HIV home test kits are paid products sold in channels such as online pharmacies and the Hivpoint online shop.
